The beginning of my career as an athlete, personal trainer and 20-time international fitness cover model goes back many years. Sport has accompanied me since a young age. Back then, artistic gymnastics fascinated me. I only came to strength sports when, at the age of 17, I suffered a severe meniscus injury that put me out of action for almost a year.
Actually, the doctors had predicted the end of my sporting career, but with the help of a physiotherapist who brought me into contact with strength sports for the first time, I managed over time to be able to load my knee again. My body responded extremely well to strength training, and through the fast progress I was able to achieve through the training, I found my new passion for bodybuilding.
I acquired more and more knowledge about strength sports and nutrition and completed training as a certified fitness trainer and nutritionist. Nevertheless, after finishing business grammar school, I decided on a career as a bank client advisor to create a solid base for myself. But I didn't lose my passion for strength training. On the contrary - during my work as a client advisor for wealthy private clients at a major Swiss bank, I regularly trained 8-10 hours a week. It took a lot of organisation to combine both. My key to success has always lain in my passion, persistence and good self-management, both at the bank and in training.
I used my holidays at the bank to complete various elite courses in the USA, England and Spain over the years. Among my mentors are the world-renowned coaches Charles Poliquin (www.strengthsensei.com), Wolfgang Unsoeld (www.ypsi.de) and Alan Aragon (www.alanaragon.com). Through all these courses as well as years of experience as an athlete, I was able to increase my knowledge enormously over the years.
Already during my time at the bank, many people recognised my potential as a fitness cover model. As a hobby, I started standing in front of the camera for local Swiss photographers. Back then I had the big dream of making it onto the cover of a well-known fitness magazine. That I, as a "little Swiss guy", could make it against such large international competition, which comes above all from the USA, seemed impossible to many sceptics. But I held on to my dream and also engaged a lot with success psychology, which lastingly changed my thought structures. It became clear to me that anything can be possible. I just had to present myself in the right place, meaning where many important people from the industry come together. And so I prepared for FIBO 2013 (one of the largest fitness trade fairs worldwide) and brought my body into top form for this event. I wanted to stand out as strongly as possible at the fair and therefore showed myself with a bare torso. As chance would have it, I was approached in the toilet by the publisher of a major international fitness magazine. He invited me to Los Angeles, where I was to pose for a few shoots. There was still no talk of a cover, yet I was totally amazed and could hardly grasp what was happening.
In Los Angeles, many of the photographers compared me to the fitness legend Greg Plitt and said I had huge potential. They saw that certain something in my abs, which are very deep and symmetrically defined, which is very sought-after in the industry. One of the photographers even said that in a few months I would land my first cover. 7 months later the time had actually come, in June 2014 I made it onto a cover for the first time. The excitement and joy I felt when I made it onto the cover of the world-renowned Muscle & Fitness magazine with 7 million readers can't be put into words.
My first cover made big waves and made me known on social media. I received numerous requests for personal training and started training my first clients alongside my full-time job at the bank. My clients achieved fast results through my results-oriented personal training and recommended me on, which further increased the demand for my personal training and paved the way into my self-employment. I ended my employment at the bank and dedicated myself fully to my passion, passing on my knowledge to other people and helping them get back in shape.
Since then I've deepened my knowledge further and completed training as a mental coach, in order to offer you holistic personal training that, alongside training and nutrition, also includes a mental component. By strengthening your mind, I can lead you to both fast and lasting success - in all areas of life.
